Number of distributed tokens (X)-number of burned and destroyed tokens (Y) = amount of available AXS(Z).
Amount of available AxS(Z)/Number of users*Price per Token= Total AxS Value Remember that we want Z to be as big as possible. If it's too low, more people will need to purchase OAXS on secondary markets for use within the game thus driving up the price there as well. On the other hand if it gets too high then some OAXS may become "locked up" from those who wanted to use them in the game.
Total AxS Value/Total Supply = Price per AXS (trying to get this as high as possible).
Price per AXS + Burn Rate*= Total stored value of OAXS on secondary market (important to note that we don't want people leaving their Axie with us here at HQ so we will only burn a small percentage each time--this will change later if we somehow end up with too many Axies and not enough space).The current burn rate is 1%, which means that for every 100 AxS you own, 1 OAXS is taken from your balance and destroyed forever. We are not sharing this number publicly but it's possible the burn rate will change depending on various factors (such as total supply of Axies).
Goal = Price per AXS + Burn Rate*= Total stored value of OAXS on secondary market ; Amount of available AxS(Z)/Number of users*Price per Token= Total AxS Value.
The current goal is set so that there are no shortages for those who want to buy, trade, or sell Axies within the game. We believe that if the goal is set too high, then it will stop people from buying, selling or trading Axies.
On the other hand if it's too low, then some Axies will be left on our boat thus resulting in a lower price per Axie and less secondary market stored value of OAXS.
Keep raising goal as long as there is minimal resistance from those who want to buy, trade or sell AXIS within the game. If we can raise enough money via fundraising rounds then we may not have to do this at all since more new users will just come on board. On the other hand if people stop buying/selling/trading, each time we "raise" the goal (i.e., decrease supply) it also raises demand (i.e., make people happy). So overall it's like a self-balancing equation.
Currently, our plan is to release 1 new Axie per month for the next 6 months on a first come first serve basis--you pay your fee and get your chance on the boat so to speak. Auctions are coming later on if necessary but this is TBD at the moment.
Please note that there are some factors I have not included in this post because they are best kept secret! They will only be revealed when needed :)
AXS Tokens can be used in-game by players or traded on secondary markets based on their value which will be determined by the number of AxS tokens burned via buy/sell transactions within the game (both OAXS & AXS) vs. amount available (the current supply).
